Hi there nugs.
I’m Sara, as you probably guessed from the name of the blog. I’m a self proclaimed wanderlustee and word obsessee from the great state of Texas.
What you’ll find here is basically a scrapbook of some of my favorite words, travels, and random helpful bits from my life.
I have a huge family, 11 siblings, so I’m used to being surrounded by people. I’m pretty a much a pro at zoning any kind of noises out because of it. My best friend is my dog and partner in crime, Charlotte. And I am currently working on training her to be off leash so she can join along on the adventures. My dream is to live out of my car with her and another furry friend, both traveling and writing tirelessly.
Traveling took a while for me to get into, surprisingly. I was used to cramped 23 hour long rides in my dad’s 15 passenger van, with nothing but a book and the screams of my younger siblings to liven up the rides. It was all worth it once we made it to our home away from home in Colorado.
These achey road trips have become a staple of my traveling style. In fact, the longer the trip, the better, especially if it’s in a car. This is nothing glamorous. I often sleep in a sleeping bag in either my trusty CR-V or in a rental. I clean my hair, face and teeth in any sink I can take advantage of. If I’m lucky, there’s a shower that I’m either allowed to use or I’ve snuck into. But, it’s the way I like to do it. And I still attest that there’s no better way to do it- not tied down to any location. Plus, the groggy morning wake up directly in some little pocket of beauty is always worth it.
Hopefully I get to meet some of ya along the way! Chat me up if you ever want some poor puns or a Chandler-Bing-esque joke.
