Off to Venice

Outfit Details: Blush Off-the-shoulder dress, Black lace-up Sandals

I had to say goodbye to Istanbul. But, I got to say heya to Venice and that certainly makes up for it.

I remember when I was younger Venice was the one place I undoubtedly wanted to visit when I got older. I thought the canals running through the town were the absolutely coolest thing. It’s super ethereal to actually be here now and having ridden my very first gondola ride! My expectations have definitely been met and surpassed.

I thought an ethereal day needed a breezy outfit to match it. I’m super into light blush tones and off-the shoulder outfits so it only made sense that I’d eventually pair the two together.

I’m an avid online shopper (it’s so bad) and as soon as I laid eyes on this dress I knew that I had to have it. So freaking glad my instincts were on point, because this easily a new favorite dress.

And, for real thank goodness it’s off the shoulders. As is extremely noticeable in all these pictures, I have a tan that needs some serious even-ing out.

I wanted to let the off-the shoulder look to speak for itself and put an emphasis on my collarbones so I went with drop earrings that didn’t detract from them. Just a very clean cut minimalistic look for the day. The dress hangs loose but not so loose that it resembles a parachute more than a dress. It kind of just knows exactly how to hang.

Since summer began I’ve been wearing these lace-up sandals from Madewell nonstop. Seriously my greatest shoe purchase of all time. I wore them for hours in Venice and there were zero problems with them. Wellll that’s a bit of a lie. It started raining and I was super worried about damaging them somehow. They’re just a tad on the pricy side for sandals, but I argue that since they are so dang cute and such great quality, it’s 100% worth it. I think I may even send it and buy a pair in brown. No Ragretz. Not even a letter. Anyone get that movie reference? Ha I’m a total ‘We Are the Millers’ obsessee.

P.S. There’s a mini sale on Madewell’s sale stuff right now. Sale on sale? Yas.

But, yes. These sandals. This dress. Totally babealicious.
